The Future

Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, vision cleared, ambition inspired, and success achieved.  — Helen Keller

We all want a great future for our children. We all want to leave a better world for our future generations.

But then, if we allow the decline in moral and social values to continue, there will be no humanity. If we continue our indulgent and intolerant behavior and allow the environment to deteriorate, there will be no future for the earth, our only home.

Our world is facing many unprecedented challenges. Most of these problems can be surmounted provided we adopt right values and infuse the same in our children during their formative years.

If we really want, we can reverse the negative trends and make the most of positives to create a great future for coming generations. But we have to change. We have to understand what is important and what is not. We have to fulfill our needs and limit our wants, like other inhabitants of this planet. We have to restrain our wayward ways. Then we can look forward to a great future with confidence and hope.

And we can easily achieve it with the inner transformation at individual level and a sensible shift in the collective consciousness. In the present scenario, it is not just our duty; rather, it has become a compulsion if we want to leave a live-able and lively world for our future generations.

And if we want to leave a better world for our children, we need to shift our focus from a better world to better children. We should strive to leave better children for this world? Children who can stem the rot. Children who are an asset to the planet and humankind.

And then the humanity will be blessed with bliss.
